For this assignment you will be writing your own short story. You will choose either one or both of the prominent themes from "Story of an Hour" and create a narrative that demonstrates one of those themes. Theme 1: Independence is necessary to happiness.

Theme 2: Marriages/relationships/dependency can be oppressive.

Consider using metaphors, similes, specific plot style, irony, sarcasm, dialogue, etc. (All of the wonderful literary terms and elements that you study!)
