Why does "I'm up for it" and "I'm down for it" have the same meaning?

Cus they are diferent prases but they have the same meaning.

It has the same meaning because both mean you are willing to do it. Im up for it , in my opinion, is mostly used more formally while im down for it is mostly used for friends and family
