We're working on "Romeo and Juliet" Act 1 in my English class right now. For this assignment, I have to: 1. Create a thematic statement for the assigned act

2. Think of two songs that also echo the same theme and include at least 1-5 lines of lyrics from my song choices

This is what I have so far:

In “Romeo and Juliet”, William Shakespeare conveys the idea that love is an inevitable force, even though it may not seem right at first.

Two Songs and Lyrics:

When the Wrong One Loves You Right - Céline Dion:

“I can't stop, can't fight, can't resist it

When the wrong one loves you right

Can't run, I can't hide, I can't say no

When the wrong one loves you right”

Wasn't Expecting That - Jamie Lawson:

“I thought love wasn't meant to last

Honey, I thought you were just passing through”

Can someone please verify my work?? My teacher gives credit based on the quality of the work and I really want to get an A on this.
