(1) Riding bicycles to school is good for the environment. (2) When students ride their bikes to school, they help reduce the air pollution caused by vehicle exhaust. (3) If more students rode bikes to school, there would be fewer cars on the road. (4) There would also be fewer cars waiting in carpool lines at the schools twice a day. (5) Riding bikes can also be a better option than riding the bus because buses also contribute to pollution. (6) Riding bikes would decrease the need for so many bus routes.
(7) Students should research their neighborhoods to find out if riding bikes to school is an option that makes sense. (8) Even young students can transport themselves to school safely if they have the proper training. (9) Many schools have programs that teach students how to ride safely near traffics and how to share the road with other vehicles. (10) Schools and police departments can inform students and parents about the safest routes to take. (11) Generally, the best routes for bike riders are those without heavy traffic.
