Which adjective is better "lovely" or "beautiful"

The adjective that is better would be the word beautiful, the dictionary for beautiful states "pleasing the senses or mind aesthetically." While the word lovely in the dictionary is "exquisitely beautiful." It depends on how you use the word but as you can see the definition of lovely has the word "beautiful" already in it which gives it more dominance.
