In 150 to 300 words, Explain why Abraham Lincoln would need to use the ethos for his speech? Of what was he trying to convince his listeners?

By using ethos, he wanted to convince his audience about the importance of carrying the civil war out to its conclusion. He used to give speeches using short sentences and simple language to get the attention of his listeners. This was his technique to get closer to his listeners and convince them.he convinced his listeners to his concerns by addressing them as "fellow countrymen" including him, making him part of the people and just the leader of the nation. ... He specifically wanted that "slavery" will no longer be allowed, because he believes that freedom should belong to every people.
