it think the point of this poem is to make you aware of how if something is small, the biggest option is not always the best option. As an example-, bread, you would rather put it in a small tin rather than a big one, the more tight it is to the bread, the more is won't dry; more room, more air, leading to spoilage. You don't always rely on big things to do great things.
