If you could rewrite the ending to the story of the boy in striped pajamas how would it end?

Well, for starters, I wouldn't make the boy die. I would make him help his Jew friend out of the camp, gradually grow up, and keep leading the rest of the people away from the camp, like maybe he could've joined the resistance and helped instead of the ending in a blood bath. The rewritten story should portray him as saving his friend and rising up to be a hero through an understanding about race, instead of him pointlessly dying
