Why would politicians be okay with people living on the street as long as they stay out of sight? Help me plz

Because they are politicians. They would do anything to make themselves look better in the eye of the public. If that means hiding the people with struggles, then so be it. If the homeless were seen, then the politician would have to work on fixing that problem. So to them, it's better to hide it than work on it.
