Women in America face s-xual assault and ra.pe almost every single day. I was first exposed to it when I was 11. Now that I'm 15 it's only gotten worse. On top of that women are held to a social standard that has been droning on since the 50's. Not only that but we are expected to be subjects to the male gaze. We are asked to dress a certain way, eat a certain way, and even torture ourselves for an unattainable image of beauty. Women have not always been seen as powerful or influential figures. We have only very recently been accepted as role models for the younger generation. And even then, we are still paid less, we have no rights to our own body or reproductive system, and we still face discrimination for our sex, race, gender, or socio-economic status. There should most definitely be an international Women's Day. All humans are equal no matter what. No-one is better then the other.
