I wrote this and I want your opinion! What Being Myself Means to Me~ Thailer H. D

Being myself used to be a distant thought to me,
As a child I wanted to make everyone else happy,
And I ignored what I wanted who I was,
When I hit puberty I felt wrong and uncomfortable,
Later I grew my first crush on a girl, her name was Precious,
When I came out to my Dad he rejected the idea I could be anything but his straight cisgender pink loving daughter,
How wrong he was to assume I’d stay the same forever,
I began to dress more conservatively refusing to let people see the body I was producing,
I thought makeup would make me feel happier,
I believed I just wasn’t pretty enough that I was ugly,
I got my first short haircut when I was 13,
When we moved to Headland I got stares,
Then 2 days after being there I was in the school talent show,
Singing about the bullying I faced in elementary school,
Then the bullying started,
6th graders chanted ‘Crybaby’ at me and people called me a lesbian because of my haircut,
No one there NO ONE knew I was bisexual,
So I grew my hair out like the coward I am,
I let other people opinion’s get to me,
Now after 4 years of cowardice and hiding I’m done,
I’m happy to to be gay,
I’m happy with my short hair,
I’m happy to be me because being me,
Means the world to me.
