We have reviewed family ties a great deal in many of our readings: mother and daughter ("Everyday Use"), brother and sister (Piano Lesson), sister and sister ("Sadie and Maud"), etc., but not quite brother and brother like in "Sonny's Blues." And we can already see the sister vs sister dynamic repeated in "Sadie and Maud" and "Everyday Use." How was this kind of familial dynamic managed in "Sonny's Blues"? Do you see any differences in the writing about these brothers and the writing about the sisters in "Everyday Use" (other than the plot)? If so, explain. If not, explain.
