Writing Conventions Exercise Correct the given example of each of the following writing convention errors by writing a new sentence that avoids the error. Additionally, for EACH writing convention write 2 original examples of that error, and then correct each of those 2 sentences with revised sentences that don’t contain that writing convention error.

Vagueness

Example: The event put on by the city downtown was a wonderful, exciting event for the group of friends to attend together.

Redundancy

Example: It’s almost time for the United States presidential election again, when the citizens of America will go to the polls to choose their leader for the next four years.

Off-Topic

Example: Liberty Middle School, which is part of Hillsborough School District, one of the largest school districts in the country serving nearly 200, 000 students with several hundred schools, including a number of highly distinguished academic institutions, has over a thousand students served by more than a hundred teachers.

Wordiness
