1. When reading the poem we can see that for the writer women are phenomenal when they believe what they are. She shows how a woman confident of her measurements, her strength, her appearance and her essence is a stunning woman who can put the whole world at her feet, regardless of standards.

2. A man would not have the same delicacy as Maya when writing this poem, because Maya knows what women feel about the imposed standards of beauty and how it generates a huge lack of confidence, so she is not limited to talking only of appearance (one that a man would probably do), but she says that to be a phenomenal woman, change has to happen from the inside out, women have to recognize themselves as someone phenomenal to become phenomenal, a man would talk about a change from the outside in, which is not effective.

3. We can see that Maya talks about voluptuous, communicative, leadership instincts, sensual and opinionated women who do not bow to patriarchal standards. In a nutshell, we can see that Maya approaches a female character with great personality and confidence in herself.
