Prejudice makes people feel less than fully human. It makes people feel undervalued byothers, and their self-esteem suffers. It often leads to discrimination, creating an atmosphere of fear for what might happen and for the future. Overall, prejudice can leadto individuals and entire communities feeling vulnerable, frightened and worthless. As a white female, I have never really known outright prejudice. I am sure that people have their preconceptions about who I am, but i’ve never seen it in any actions or words. However, some of my friends are transgender. They receive the prejudice of people not liking that they don’t fit in with societal norms.
