She was startled, but excited to start her first day of middle school. Her outfit was ready, and her lunch was packed. She even bought new pens and notebooks for the new school year.

As she sat on the bus in her new clothes, she started to feel nervous. What if she didn’t like her teachers? What if middle school was too hard? What if she didn’t have anyone to sit with at lunch? Laurel could feel her stomach churning with fear. Then at the next stop, her best friend, Norma, got on the bus. As Norma sat right next to her, Laurel knew everything would be okay as long as she had her best friend.

The story begins with Laurel getting ready and prepared for school. (Sort of like a prologue) A prologue explains the setting and idea of the story, it could also introduce the main character who is Laurel. Then comes the "climax". The climax is the highest point in the story, it mainly leads to the resolution. Laurel sat on the bus and began worrying, would her teachers like her? Who would she sit with at lunch? Then we revisit the resolution, "As Norma sat right next to her, Laurel knew everything would be okay".

one thousand and one nights, also known as arabian nights is a collection of stories whose basic structure is that of embedded narrative. this technique refers to a main story which works as the common frame - or framing narrative - for the other stories, and then this series of stories which are connected to the main one. this technique can also be referred to as a story within a story. the stories stem from the original tale, some begin and end on their own, some are connected to the previous or following one, by means of questions that are answered in the subsequent tale, or characters which reappear.
