All the reports show that this was not a pleasant experience, as it was full of fear and despair, for not knowing what would happen if they were discovered, nor if they would be able to survive. In "Maus," a biography of a Jew who tried to escape the Nazi with his wife, we can see that many Jews tried to bribe and pay people who could protect them, or just facilitate their escape, but even with high payments, fear reigned , because nobody was trustworthy and the Jews were in a very complicated situation. Still in this work, we can see families that hid in unsightly places and with a very low quality of life. Regarding hiding places, we can see in "The Diary of Anne Frank" how the Jewish families who managed to hide, went through a severe process of psychological terror and had no idea when it would end.
