For "star food", think about what dade is told by his father, then what he is told by his mother. there's your answer for that one.  'everything that rises must converge' is a little more obvious. think about the conflict between julian and his mother. think of what they each feel about equality and people's rights.  "the bet" is a little bit harder, i think. it would probably be the difference between the banker's thoughts and the lawyer's. i don't think the answer is the obvious, "death is worse than life imprisonment", "no, life imprisonment is worse" argument in the beginning of the story. think about the lawyer's note at the end. that should give you the answer. 
basically, you need to find the difference between what one of the characters thinks and feels about a situation, and what the other character feels about it, then what it results in.
