Open on a positive note. Greet interviewees on time and make them feel welcome: smile, offer them something to drink and maintain eye contact as much as possible.The interviewer should take into account if the interviewee is comfortable at the moment, for if the person being questioned is nervous then there is a possibility everything would go downhill.The interviewer should also take into consideration the conversation at hand, you wouldn't want the interviewee to stray off the topic.The best interviewers have three qualities in common: they prepare well, have good communication skills, and are good at assessing candidates.

When choosing their guest the interviewer should choose someone appropriate for the audience which would not lash out if a certain topic arrises. The interviewer should take into consideration the questions being asked, and if the guest has control of their emotions to not do anything less than appropriate.
