is nothing more than a “vision” or illusion. The other interpretation you could have of the poem is that people will have their own perceptions and views on the world, this idea suggests that it’s impossible to know the true objective “reality.” Edgar Allen Poe was an extraordinary man who unlocked many new opportunities for new creative writing styles and ideas for the people of his time. He was one of the greatest writers of his time and dedicated his whole life infatuated with writing. He invented the modern detective and mystery tale, his story was the inspiration for Arthur Conan Doyle’s “Sherlock Holmes.” He is also credited with creating science fiction novels.
When Poe was young, he often accompanied his mother on her many acting tours, he remembered his mother performing her favorite scenes from Shakespeare. Sadly, he watched her die off her career. Poe’s mother had tuberculosis, but she continued acting to acquire money. This event was the start of Poe’s forever association of beauty and death. Poe had romantic affiliations with a classmate's mother, whom he was devastated to find out, she had a brain tumor. He wrote one of his first poems for her, substituting her real name for “Helen.” In the poem “To Helen,” he described her immense beauty and his feelings for the woman. For Poe, beauty and death was forever fused. Poe’s early life included reading long passages of poems to entertain his adoptive parent’s guests. Poe’s reputation has gone through many twists and turns throughout his life and death, his obituary was one of the leading

factors in this. Edgar Allen Poe was a remarkable man who opened numerous new chances for new exploratory writing styles and thoughts for individuals of his time.
