reread claudius's soliloquy in act iii, scene iii, beginning "o, my offense is rank " and ending with "all may be well." briefly tell in your own words what you learn about claudius that you otherwise may not have known with certainty.

In his soliloquy, Claudius reveals to us that he was indeed the one who killed his brother, the previous king of Denmark in order to marry his wife and claim the throne for himself. However, in his monologue we see that he feels guilty, which is something we didn't know prior to hearing him speak about it. He says that even though he prays for forgiveness, he is aware of the fact that it is futile, given that he is still enjoying the fruits of his murder by being the king.
