There are three version of Hamlet from the early 17th century. The first one is from 1603 and it is called “first quarto” (Q1). The second is from 1604/05 and it´s called the “second quarto” (Q2). The third one is from 1623 and it is called the First Folio (F1). (Quarto and Folio refer to book formats common in Shakespeare´s time.) Any other folio or quarto besides those three are considered derivative of them.
