I haven't read the book myself but here is the guideline to sources. Hopefully this helps.

Primary source: Written by the person going through an event. The Diary of Anne Frank is a primary source.

Secondary Source: A book of history. The person wasn't there but they know enough information to write about what the people went through. Your history book is a secondary source.

Tertiary Source: A combination of secondary and primary source. Wikip3dia is an example of a tertiary source. It maybe include facts and then opinions.
