He talks about how immoral acts to one's benefit could be committed at the expense of other people reputation. This is something that's always being present in politics when people can create scandals around the opponent or even humiliate other people for their mistakes in order to strengthen their own position. I believe that if he was alive to see the dividedness on the current political climate he would be extremely concerned, this is something that is part of the news every day, we are experiencing constant attacks on character as a spectacle. It is a good time to reflect on his words.
