I would miss Anne's achievements and drive. Anne is Heller's teacher.I would take Hellen for a person incapable of being educated.

Anne insits on teaching Hellen some words in spite of the difficult situation: Hellen is quite agressive and her parents think Anne is wasting her time. Hellen breaks objects and Anne writes on her hand the name of all the object she has smashed. I can ,then, get what Hellen and Anne are in fact doing by reading the stage directions. Besides, Anne has some memories about her sad childhood and these memories justify her hard work.Stage directions give me the information I need to learn just the opposite; Hellen , at moments, seems to be pleased at being in contact with written words.
