For english i have to write a poem about what is was like growing up so running it by yall to make sure it's good.

growing up poor but never realized it
living in a two bedroom house with my family on a small block
quality time with my friends is something i never got
we didn't live near anyone so there was no one to play with
my brother is the person i had to spend many hours of my day with
we were growing up with very little money
had to save money so we kept the power off and opened the blinds when it's sunny
we were too poor to buy food so the school gave it free
never thought of this much but now i can see
the struggle my mom went through to try and earn money to provide for the family
my parents were divorced before i turned three now i have a multi-family
mom was depended and lived off of child support
planning a nice vacation then the bills came in and that mission was abort
i was born and raised in a poor ghetto neighborhood
that all changed when my dad won custody of me now everything was good
i'm living in a better place now i'm getting what at the time was pampered
now i can accomplish things and not having to worry about being scampered
and for some reason as i grow older, i'm doing more stupid stuff
experienced with weed and have regretted it ever sense even though it was only one puff
i had disappointed my family who had always taught me to do what was right
the look of disappointment of my families face was not a pretty sight
and i still wish i could go back and redo that night
just when i thought i was back on the right path i got in a fight
came back to school and got expelled for a year
my dad was fiery that yell was something i had never wanted to hear
and on top of all that i am rapacious to the people that i love
violence isn't how i was raised i try to be better but that is one thing i keep falling short of
i really hate who i am turning out to be
i look at my reflection in the mirror and think to myself like this isn't me
but when i look in the mirror all the bad i have previously done is all i can see

Read this passage from alan weisman's "the city without us": he props his running shoe against the whitish bark of a chinese amur cork tree, growing among the last of the hemlocks. "this may sound blasphemous, but maintaining biodiversity is less important than maintaining a functioning ecosystem. what matters is that soil is protected, that water gets cleaned, that trees filter the air, that a canopy regenerates new seedlings to keep nutrients from draining away into the bronx river." now read this passage from jared diamond's "the ends of the world as we know them": both the shoguns and the japanese peasants took a long-term view: the former expected to pass on their power to their children, and the latter expected to pass on their land. . today, despite having the highest human population density of any large developed country, japan is more than 70 percent forested. what common theme of green literature is most strongly evident in both passages? a. in order to thrive in coming centuries, people must find viable alternatives to fossil fuels, such as coal. b. with careful and intelligent management, ecosystems can still thrive after human beings have changed them. c. in order meet their goals, environmentalists must people develop a personal desire to protect nature. d. there is no excuse for damaging the natural world, and anyone who does so will pay a steep price.
