Additionally, to this, in each category there are subdivisions and in the case of the man the system follows the medieval social system in which the king is at the top, and it is followed by the nobility, then by the knights and vassals, then by the merchants, artisans and farmers and at the bottom there are the peasants and the serfs, also, men are considered to be over women. Considering this information, the statement that is true is that "Noblemen ranked above merchants" because as part of the medieval social hierarchy which is the one that determined the way men were organized in the Chain of Being, the Nobles were on the second more important position while the merchants were almost at the bottom of the hierarchy.
