Explain why many students are overconfident in their abilities to take open book tests. What are these students failing to realize? I think they fail to realize that they must know where to look for the answers and that they must understand how to solve the problem and that books won't tell them this. To have books help them they must have the books all indexed for where the relevant information is available.
