•We are told about the last moments of an airman during WWI.  

•The poet makes use of parallelism in the poem for contrasting everything that the man is thinking just before his death.

•The airman comes to the realization that his sacrifice won’t make the people of the country better in any way but at least their lives will be saved and they won’t suffer any harm.

•In his last moments, he finds balance between everything in his mind.  

•He also realizes that he does not hate the other country either and does not feel sorry for his actions in the past.

•For example: "Because death is inevitable, it does not matter if one lives or dies."

The other poem "Do not go gentle into that good night":

•Shows a less serene opinion of death.  

•The speaker does not feel things balancing out in his mind.

•The poet is urging the dying man to fight for his life.  

•He wants him to fight till his last breath to stay alive.
