What does the structure of this short story say about montresor’s perception of the events in the story?

ohhh I love "The Cast of Amontillado"!! Okay so, Montresor seems to reflect the chaotic narrative. As he descends down into the catacombs with his victim, Montresor becomes more animated and insane. This parallels the structure of the story.
