The Iroquois constitution was made simple, but brought much prosperity to its people. Without soldiers, police, nobility, kings, governors, mayors or judges, without prisons or processes, the constitution made everything walk with regularity. All quarrels, all conflicts are settled by the collectivity to which they concern. The constitution dictated that domestic economy be made in common by a number of families and in a communist way; the land is owned by the tribe and the homes only have, and temporarily, small gardens. The constitution also determined that the stakeholders themselves resolved the issues; and, in most cases, secular customs were sufficient to solve these problems. There can be neither poor nor needy according to the constitution and therefore the communist families are aware of their obligations to the elderly, the sick and the invalids of war. The constitution says that everyone is equal and free, including women. There is still no place for slaves, and as a general rule foreign tribes are not subjugated.
