HURRY PLEASE... Writing Prompt: In chapter 1, Winston is described as a lone character living in deplorable conditions. We
see how his negative thoughts about the party
progress, and his boldness/courage while writing in
his illegal journal turn to fear and anxiety when there
is a knock at the door. If you lived in a society like the
one portrayed in 1984, would you be complacent, or
would you feel unhappy about the way society works,
like Winston? Would you risk expressing yourself if
you knew that you might get caught? Why or why
not?
