In both NewsELA articles read this week, there have been differing perspectives on how leaders would describe nonviolent protest and engage others to become
involved in the movement. John Lewis describes his activism as "good trouble"
while Stokely Carmichael aligned with "Black Power-A call for unity among black
people."
What is the main difference between how these two leaders used their platform
to create change? Be sure to
cite evidence from the texts to support your answer. Your paragraph should include a claim, relevant evidence, and explanations of that
evidence. Your paragraph should be at least 6 complete sentences.
