They ask, but don't really care, if mainstream society is offended by their boldness. They refer to their history that contributed to who they are. African Americans will rise no matter how long they  might be oppressed and denied the right to be treated like humans with all the same rights, privileges, and responsibilities.  It puts in a historical context the fight against oppression, stereotyping, and aggression against African Americans. It highlights their strength and perseverance that is eternal.
