The only thing you're allowed to see, as a reader, is this woman trying to persuade God to get this man she has a crush on to call her. It was really accurate at capturing that sort of selfish bargaining everybody probably does when they're trying to get what they want. MARK: I don't agree at all. I think the story is making fun of a particular person. You're not supposed to identify with her, you're supposed to feel sorry for her – or just laugh at her, depending on how generous you feel.
