While attempting to make a left turn at an intersection, the left side of my vehicle was hit by an ambulance (no lights, no sirens) driving on the left side of the road, coming from behind where I started. My car was pushed into the center of the intersection and the damage was extensive. Although my left mirror was knocked off, miraculously my car was hit ever so slightly in front of my left foot and, aside from being pretty shaken up, I was fine. After realizing what had just happened, I turned to my friend and asked if he was okay. I'll never forget his stone cold response: "We were just hit by a ton and a half of irony."
