A college graduates investment portfolio will be smaller, or the list will be shorter because they have just graduated, and will have to pay off any lingering debt. They likely spent a lot of their money on paying for their education, so they will have little to no investments. While the retired persons' will be longer, they have gone through life, built up money, and made many investments into companies, making them even more money.
