a. The German troops storm your home - what do they say, how do they act? Do they touch anyone? Do they break stuff?

b. The German troops give you/your family 15 minutes to pack a small bag - When you are told this, what comes to mind? How do you feel? What are the soldiers doing and saying as you think about this?

c. You are to determine which few items you will take - What are the things you will stuff in your bag? Why did you choose these things? Did you hide anything hoping you will be back? Does anyone in your family take anyone special? What do they take? Why?

d. The German troops are escorting you to an unknown destination - How are they making you leave the house? Do they touch anyone? How to they interact with your family? Is anyone hurt? In what direction are they taking you? Are you going to the center of town? the train station? Who else is being taken away? Do you see nighbors or friends? Are their any non-Jewish friends or neighbors watching? What is their reaction?

e. You begin to realize that the life you had before the Nazis is gone. You are leaving life as you know it behind. What goes through your head as you are marched off? What memories are you thinking about? What emotions do these thoughts bring to you? What do you think about as you pass by the buildings of your town, your school, the remains of your synagogue (church) that was burnt down?

f. What is your emotional response? Use strong descriptions and words. Show your fear, sadnees, worries, be vulnerable!
