made the victim of a very old and terrible lie." What is the lie, who tells it and why? Toward the
end, the narrator tells a story about a soldier who jumps on a grenade in an attempt to save his
comrades. What happens in the often-repeated Hollywood version of this narrative? What makes
this particular version (the narrator's) “a true story" even though it "never happened"?

the anecdote makes readers feel sorry for the man’s lack of heritage, then reminds readers that the man has an equally valuable heritage.

an argumentative essay presents objectively a topic and its main characteristics. besides, it states all this information and facts by giving authentic and substantiated proof to the audience. by contrast, a persuasive text purpose is to convince the audience about some facts by presenting them according to his/her emotions and feelings. the main purpose of a persuasive text is to convince the audience to agree with the author´s opinion. on the other hand, in the argumentative essay, the author leads the writer to recognize his/her point of view as the correct one.
