What is the tone? Daisy was Gatsby’s green light. Even though she was so close to him, Gatsby would stare out at the dock, wishing to be with her again. His hopes and dreams were far away, but in the darkness, he was still going after them. The green light is a symbol that is very relatable, representing the human desire for something we don’t have. However, the key thing is to strive, to pursue something, to be ambitious.
