Recently, an experiment has shown just what a mission to Mars might be like for a crew of astronauts. Six men went on a pretend trip to Mars called Mars500. After 257 days, they "landed" on a model of the planet. Some of
them left their steel capsule in heavy spacesuits. They walked into a sand-covered room that was made to look
like the surface of Mars. They took "samples" of the sand. They also pretended to do experiments. The other crew
members stayed on the ship.
