It is a hot Saturday afternoon my friend Kenny and I decide to play football by the canal. Kenny suggests going to the pool, but I refuse since I don't know how to swim.

We arrive at our usual spot by the canal and start to play. Suddenly, my friend tries to take the ball from me, and he pushes me. I lose balance and fall backward into the canal.

I try to get out, but I can't stay afloat. My head goes under the water, and I am starting to get tired. I can hear my friend shouting at me, but I can't understand what he is saying. All of a sudden, I feel two arms holding me from behind and taking me out of the canal.

The man who saves me is an ex-policeman called Frank. When he sees me, he doesn't hesitate to jump into the water to rescue me. Thanks to Frank, I am alive. He is my hero.

Today I am taking swimming lessons to prevent anything like that from happening again, and what is more, to help someone in need just like my hero did with me.
