The Olympic games of today have their origins in ancient Greece. Despite some similarities, there are major differences between the Olympics of the past and those
of today. First of all, in the ancient games, there was only one winner. No awards
were given for second or third place finishes. Next, athletes were rewarded as much
for style as they were for speed. Sprinters, for example, were not only expected to
win a race; they were also expected to do so with grace and skill. A final difference is
that ancient Greeks competed only with each other, not with the past. In other
words, athletes strove only to beat their current competitors and cared little about
surpassing "record" times and distances

Which detail from "to build a fire" best supports the idea that most of the real yukon prospectors had little experience for surviving in cold weather? it happened. it was his own fault or, rather, his mistake. he should not have built the fire under the spruce tree. there was the fire, snapping and crackling and promising life with every dancing flame. he would have to build a fire and dry out his footgear. this was imperative at that low temperature—he knew that much. the flame he got by touching a match to a small shred of birch bark that he took from his pocket.

Will mark as brainliest excerpt from the christmas carol: use this information to deepen your understanding of the character. oh! but he was a tight-fisted hand at the grindstone, scrooge! a squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous, old sinner! hard and sharp as flint, from which no steel had ever struck out generous fire; secret, and self-contained, and solitary as an oyster. the cold within him froze his old features, nipped his pointed nose, shriveled his cheek, stiffened his gait; made his eyes red, his thin lips blue; and spoke out shrewdly in his grating voice. a frosty rime was on his head, and on his eyebrows, and his wiry chin. he carried his own low temperature always about with him; he iced his office in the dog-days; and didn’t thaw it one degree at christmas. race: use this organizational method to guide your writing- r – restate the prompt a – answer the prompt/questions c – cite evidence e – explain the evidence write your response here:
