Interpreting Images
Every image, whether it's a painting, drawing, or
photograph, has a subject. The subject of an image
refers to the object, person, or central idea of the piece.
When determining the subject of an image, keep these
questions in mind:
• What is the primary focus of the image?
• What colors are prominent in the image, and how
do they contribute to the focus?
What is absent from the image?
• What do the details in the image convey about the
subject?
• What is the mood of the image?
