The U. S. human rights diplomacy in the Middle East should not be confused by its rhetoric of freedom, democracy and empowerment, but by its actions in the Middle East. After the September 11 incident, the United States launched the Greater Middle East Democracy Project, which proposed to transform the Middle East with western values such as freedom, democracy and human rights and eliminate the breeding ground for terrorism. Not to mention the fact that America's Middle East strategy is flawed and prescribes the wrong prescriptions, even at the methodological level it is full of paradoxes.
