The size of the canopy does not affect how quickly the parachute falls to the ground. The results showed that the small canopy (5cm x 5 cm) fell to the ground the quickest and the larger canopy (20 cm x 20 cm) took the longest to fall to the ground. The results of my experiment fail to support my hypothesis. I have learned that the reason the smaller canopy was able to fall quick is because it has a smaller surface are which means that there is less air in resistance pushing up on the canopy and slowing it down as it falls to the ground.
