 Religious harmony is also a big theme in Life of Pi, because he has come to the conclusion that he should not have to choose a religion, that you can believe in whatever you want to be real because it will all be true in the end. Everything will make sense in the end, and you should never limit your options. He comes to this realization when he asks for a prayer rug, while also asking to be baptized, and further touches on it in the book.
