Semi-colons link two clauses and either add further information or
contrast information. The two clauses must be closely linked. If you
can use and or but to link the sentence, then you could try using a
semi-colon instead. For example:
It was raining heavily but the match was still on.
It raining heavily; the match was still on.
Add semi-colon
at the end of the first main clause, then write
own second clause which is linked.
A) The car had stopped in the middle of the road
B) The child fell from the kitchen table
C) Suddenly, the wall crashed all around her
D) They trudged and trudged up the hill
E) I’m writing to complain
F) You should definitely buy this game
