So what? Don't the smart kids deserve to be challenged? Don't they deserve the same rights everyone else has? They are the ones that are going to lead us into the next 25 years. They are the ones that are going to take the heavy burden that we've placed on their shoulders. They are the ones that are going to have to figure out what to do about the debt. They are the ones that have to figure out new ways to deal with pandemics.

I'm not saying that we shouldn't educate everyone. We should. A democracy can only be as strong as the citizens who make it up. Freedom is a taught right and the elite deserve to know it as well as everyone else. And because they are elite, they need to know how to make their brains do the heavy lifting. But make sure you are not creating a monster. Their moral education matters as well and keeping them out of classrooms that would instill that balance in them can't be closed.

If a student does quality work for their education, they shouldn’t be criticized for it. They take their time and do the work given to them the right way. If other students do not put in the extra effort, they can’t be furious with the people that do. No person should have to get their education taken away from them because they excel in learning. In the short story, Harrison Bergeron, “the H-G men took George and Hazel Bergeron’s fourteen-year-old son, Harrison, away.” He didn’t deserve to be taken away from his education, and neither should anybody else.
