Who's a better coach Pep Guardiola or Jürgen Klopp and why?

Undoubtedly Klopp is better.

If being better means “who won more titles”..then Pep is better.

However since the question is who is the better coach, then objectively Klopp has done more with less assets then Pep ever did.

I wasn’t going to respond at first but some of the answers I have read are just nonsense.

The simple truth is that big money players will deliver big results - more often than not. Of course, they still have to properly assembled into a team and they have to be properly coached - but all things being equal the big money team will outplay and outperform the small money team 9 out of 10 times.

Klopp run in Mainz where he retired as a player to become the coach and managed to get the team away from relegation and led it into the Bundesliga and then had it qualify for the UEFA cup is the stuff of legends.

This is where he made his mark and got recognized.

He then took over Dortmund - which by all accounts was a less than a mediocre team (13th place in the season before) with a budget dwarfed by most clubs in Germany.

He build a team consisting out of young players, some of which developed under his tutelage into bona fide world stars and won the German Bundesliga in year 3 and year 4 of his reign.

He never won an international title - but make no mistake about it = Dortmund never had the financial fire power needed to compete with the likes of Real, Barca, Man City or United.

Liverpool is a club which may allow him to truly emerge and gain the recognition he deserves as a coach. When he started the Reds were down on their knees a bit and weren’t able to attract or retain top talent. They were simply not a destination for World Class players.
